Many homeowners are concerned if a Swimming Pool will add to the value of their home. If you ask the opinion of a Real Estate Professional they will always tell you that they do not add to the value, some will even tell you that they hurt the chances of selling your home quickly. When it is time to sell your Home, it will always be necessary to find the right buyer for your home, whether or not you have a swimming pool. In Eastern North Carolina the summers are very hot and having your own swimming pool helps you enjoy the summers. We also have a lot of people retiring and relocating here from the North. With the very hot temperatures of the Summer these people feel that it is necessary to have their own Swimming Pool. We have many Realtors calling us to evaluate if a pool can be installed on a property that someone is looking to purchase. Most people that relocate to this area have dreamed of having their own In-ground Swimming Pool in their backyard.
This is a question that we should be getting everyday, instead we usually get "which pool pump is cheapest?". The proper question to ask is "Which pool pump is my best value?". best Value and Cheapest are never the same. CHEAPEST means that your upfront costs will be less, but usually means that your long run costs are more. BEST VALUE means that you are getting the best value today and for the long run.
The majority of Swimming Pools built over the years are plumbed incorrectly. We tend to get the following complaints from existing pool owners:
Over the last week I have been asked the question can I leave my above ground pool empty over the winter? The answer is always NO.
Which swimming pool is best for you? Vinyl Liner or Fiberglass?
Infinity Swimming Pools also known as Negative Edge and Vanishing Edge pools are some of the most sought after Swimming Pools. They are known for the illusion of the water flowing right off the edge of the pool. They can look like the water is going into another body of water or right off the cliff of a mountain.
Here in Eastern North Carolina we have about 50% of our pool owners leaving their pools open year round. We are often asked, “How do I take care of my Swimming Pool during the winter months?” If you follow the simple steps below you will be able to maintain your pool though the winter and Spring start-up will be a breeze!
2011 was a very interesting year! This year we saw once again the types of construction jobs change from the previous year. We started the year with an amazing Vinyl Liner Pool Renovation, where we took an existing pool, removed the white step and added a tanning ledge, benches and steps. We had the Vinyl Liner custom made to go over the steps, benches, and ledge. From there we added an amazing Outdoor Living Area with Silver Travertine Pavers, Wood Burning Fireplace, Custom Built Pergola, Bahama Shutters and More. The next project was in Beaufort where we built a 20' X 40' Concrete Pool with an elevated brick wall and seashell pavers. Our next project was an amazing transformation of the complete backyard with a Concrete Pool including the following features- Infinity Edge, Grotto with water fall, Tanning Ledge, Antique Gold Travertine Pavers, Fire Bowls, Fire Pit, Stone Retaining walls and so on. 2011 was an amazing year for Luxury and High End Projects.
Are your tired of looking at your old cheap looking vinyl liner in-ground pool? There are a lot of things that you can do to your existing vinyl liner pool. Let's start with the least expensive answer to that question. There are many ways that you can update the look. One of the most common problems are the white steps in the pool. After many years they are usually cracked and stained. You can remove these and have steps installed to the interior of the pool and then the liner will cover these new steps making them look seamless. Another great way to update the look of your pool is to cover the old white coping. There are a lot of paver manufactures that make renovation coping that can be installed right over top of the coping. You can also add real waterline tile to the interiorof your pool. Last but not least you can just change out the liner to give you another 10 to 15 years.
