Hey everybody, my name is Susan Lee and I am an Eastern North Carolina Girl. I was raised in Trenton, yep a Jones County girl at heart. I graduated high school from Jones Senior, Trenton, NC. I wasn't sure about college right off the bat, but after a year of slightly above minimum wage jobs I decided Craven Community College in New Bern was the place for me. I graduated from CCC with an Associate's Degree in Applied Science and continued on for my Bachelor of Arts degree from NC Wesleyan. I graduated with honors, due to the fact, as I got older education become more important to me. It took me a while to find my niche in life, but I have finally found it in the Pool and Spa Industry.
I was raised on a farm so hard work has never been an issue for me and strangely enough I Love It. I have been in the Pool and Spa Industry for twelve years. I started in the industry by working in a Service Department out of Atlantic Beach and within a year I was managing the Department and still doing alot of hands on physical labor. I was self-employed in the industry for 4 years and built a pretty succesful business from the ground up. I have also worked for the largest distribution center in the United States. I have completed numerous technical classes through the National Institute of Pools and Spas, Teledyne Laars and Mortex. I believe in continuing my education within the industry in order to provide the best customer service to my customers.
When I am not "in the store" I enjoy spending time with my best friend Terri and my daughter Kaylee. What I like doing . . . anything outdoors with emphasize on riding motorcycles, fishing, hiking, going to the beach and believe it or not working in the yard. My family is the most important thing to me, although they might not always agree, I am always there to lend a helping hand or provide a supportive shoulder to lean on. I spent a little over 4 years in the western part of the state, this experience was great for me, but I realized just how important my family was to me when they were no longer right around the corner. The majority of my family are in the Craven/Jones County area, so I am here to stay. My mom, Gloria Thomas, has been the greatest influence in my life. She would probably tell you that as an adolescent I never listened, but now that I am all grown up I think she realizes I was listening, I just needed to grow up in order to put all the tools she gave me to work.
I am very fortunate to be employed by Chris and Janine Varholick. They are both very dedicated to providing quality products to our customers, which is right up my alley, along with excellent customer service. If you are looking for a pool or spa, in need of a renovation or just have a question, please give me a call at 252.637.4076, or drop by 100 Rhem Street, New Bern. I look forward to meeting you soon.
